2016 Cabernet Sauvignon released
I am very excited about the release of our 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. Looking back to the 2016 vintage, we had a long and mild season punctuated by unusually heavy rains in mid-January over a couple of days that gave the vines a mid-season boost. This has resulted in a wine with remarkable intensity of flavour, and retention of good acid levels. The wine has aromas of red and blue berries, blackcurrants and chocolate with spicy and dusty overtones from the oak. The fruit carries through to a palate that is lush and textural with fantastic length and abundant fine-grained tannins. The French oak (30% new) contributes some spicy and nutty notes and helps to define the concentrated fruit flavours. This is our best Cabernet to date but there were only 176 dozen made, so it will probably sell out in a few months.
