The 2017 season was extended due to the coolness of the ripening season in February and March and an unusually heavy rain event in late March, which made ripening of fruit more difficult. Thankfully, April had long, mild dry spells. This type of season leads to wines of finesse, purity and lightness, and our Shiraz is a good example of this. This wine is medium bodied with lifted aromatics of mulberries, plums, spice and chocolate, plus some subtle charry notes from the oak. The flavours are focussed and intense, with generosity of fruit and a strong fine-grained tannin structure. The wine is drinking well now but will also age gracefully for up to 10 years.
